About Captain Janickey:
Commander Daniel Janickey has been a police officer with Fairfax County for 24 years. His career began working patrol assigned to the Fair Oaks District for a period of seven years. He then spent three years as a Detective assigned to the Organized Crime Division.
In 2000, Officer Janickey was promoted to supervisor and assigned back to patrol. As a supervisor, he has worked at several of our district stations working all shifts. As a Second Lieutenant, he was also assigned as an Investigator in our Internal Affairs Bureau.
In 2005 Officer Janickey was promoted to rank of commander. As a commander, he has been assigned to Chief’s Office, Assistant Commander for Franconia Station, Commander of Special Operations, Commander of Incident Support Services, Commander of Hostage Negotiations and most recently Commander of McLean District Station. He has been Commander at McLean since January 2012.
Commander Janickey has a Bachelor’s Degree from Bluefield College and a Master’s Certificate from American University.
