Join Safe Community Coalition for their Teen-to-Teen Mental Health Summit this Thursday, June 5th from 7pm until 9pm at the Alden Theatre. Safe Community Coalition and the Josh Anderson Foundation will host an evening of teen mental health awareness and education. A panel of current students and graduates of Langley HS, McLean HS, Woodson HS, and the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology will be sharing powerful stories of their experiences with anxiety and depression.
Following the panel, there will be parent and teen breakout groups, with discussion facilitated by educators and mental health professionals. Parents will be updated on the status of County and High School mental health initiatives, as well as gain tools to recognize the signs of mental illness and how to communicate better with their teens.
