On Saturday, May 9, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Food Drive will once again spread out across America to help provide assistance to Americans who are struggling with hunger.
The Food Drive effort is the nation's largest single-day drive. In 2014, 72.5 million pounds of food was collected, which brought the grand total of donations to more than 1.3 billion pounds of food collected since the drive began in 1992.
The need for food assistance remains a problem in America.
To participate in the Letter Carriers' food drive, on May 9 please leave your donation of non-perishable food outside, beside your mailbox. The letter carrier will retrieve the food while delivering mail. All of the collected items from McLean zip codes go to the SHARE pantry.
