    Name: The Laramie Project
    Date: April 9, 2015 - April 12, 2015
    Event Description:
The McLean High School Theatre Company (MTC) presents the renowned docudrama "The Laramie Project" this April. Directed by Amy Poe, the award-winning theatre company uses a series of interviews to piece together the facts and fabrications surrounding the tragic murder of Matthew Shepard in the fall of 1998. The death of one man opens the door to exploration of the concealed homophobia rampant not only in Laramie, Wyoming, but throughout the nation. While shedding light on the darkest parts of society, the play incorporates notes of hope in the overwhelming outpouring of support for the family and friends of Matthew Shepard and serves as a reminder to spread love in the face of hate. The Laramie Project will be held in McLean High School?s Burke Auditorium Thursday through Saturday, April 9-11, at 7 pm, and at 2 pm on Sunday, April 12, with a special screening of the documentary "Matt Shepard Is a Friend of Mine" Wednesday, April 8, at 7 pm. Tickets are available in advance at www.mcleandrama.com. Presented through arrangement with Tectonic Theater Project.
