Brief Description

Run with the Warriors – run with active duty & retired military, Wounded Warriors from the WTC – (some just back from the Wounded Warrior Olympics and training for the Army 10K.) Event support partners: The Mission Continues Organization, The George Washington University, BB&T Bank, The Dimattina Group, LLC and Western Golf Properties urge you, your family members, your friends, classmates, colleagues, and community members to run with and in support of all our Warriors!

Information for all runners

Rain or shine. Check in begins @ 8:00 am. No "day of" registrations accepted. Entry fees are non-refundable after 09/01/11. Race packets will be available for runner early pickup: 9/17 ( 9:00 am - 1:00 pm) and 9/19, 9/20,9/21 and 9/22 (9:00-5:00pm) @: BB&T Bank Chesterbrook 6220 Old Dominion Dr, Mc Lean, VA 22101 (703)241-3366 or they will be available the day of run at check in. Check in begins @ 8:00 am. T-shirt, fresh fruit, juices, water and muffin are all included in your entry fee.

ALL skill levels are welcome!

Awards Ceremony begins at 10:15 am. We are awaiting confirmation from VIP speaker(s) and Awards Presenter. Information will be posted as soon as we have confirmation.

Car Pool & Public Transportation

We strongly suggest car pools, mass transit and or drop off and pickup as parking is limited.

Parking

Local Parking for day of event @: Chesterbrook Elementary School 1753 Kirby Rd., McLean, VA 22101; St Dunstan's Episcopal Church 1830 Kirby Road McLean, Virginia USA 22101 and Chesterbrook Swim & Tennis Club 1812 Kirby Rd , Mc Lean , VA 22101 between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon. All lots are within walking distance, however we will run a shuttle bus from the parking lots. Please note - last shuttle bus before race start, will be at 8:45 am. Shuttle bus will resume for return trips at 12:00 noon.

Nordic Pole Walking 9:00-11:45 am NO FEE

Warriors will demonstrate how you profit from the tremendous benefits of this easy to learn, low impact outdoor-exercise. Great for adults & seniors.

Children's Fun Run (Under 12) 9:00-10:15am NO FEE

Warriors and some world class runners will conduct the 50 meter children’s fun run. Each child receives a ribbon after passing the finish line. After the 50 meter run, interested children can sign up for the optimal performance (i.e., fitness, grades, community service, spiritual growth, team building and etc ). The program includes a soldier acting as the mentor.

Lessons from Golf Pros 9:00- 11:45 am NO FEE

Free Fitness Evaluation 9:00 - 11:45 am

Stop by the "Fitness Table" manned by Vinson Hall's certified fitness instructor, George Lynch, his staff and Warriors. Get your blood pressure and BFI checked. Get advice on healthy nutrition, exercise routines etc.
